I've considered whether to transcribe them or not as well, haven't actually tried the passcode tool for that yet though...
Thing is though, it's a bit annoying jumping into and out of the game just to check something, and transcriptions would also be a lot easier to reference well, plus you could copy-paste exerpts for discussion. I'm more and more convinced that you can't take any of the verbal discussions in the game at face value, so having transcriptions near at hand for checking various theories, could be quite neat.
